The Tarbiya Institute is a local Muslim organization that operates three locations in Roseville, Natomas, and Elk Grove. With a combined congregation of approximately 6,000, Tarbiya is one of the largest Islamic communities in Northern California.
This month of Ramadan marks 1,416 Gregorian years (1,462 Islamic years) since the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received divine inspiration carrying the first verses of the Qur’an. As Muslims, we strive every day to live by the code of the Qur’an—most powerfully manifested in the spirit of Ramadan.
The world today is in a deep state of division. From Gaza, Trump, and looming wars, to financial insecurity, bigotry, and helplessness, challenges abound. And yet, hope still lingers.
As men and women of faith, our responsibility is to never lose hope in God’s mercy, and to tread the world steadily—keeping it from suffocating itself, and breathing sanity into its corners.
In this beautiful month of Ramadan, we invite you to an interfaith iftar dinner titled Breaking Bread: Keeping Our Hope Alive. Faith, healthcare, business, and law enforcement leaders, elected officials, and media representatives will come together to break bread at an iftar dinner hosted by the Tarbiya community, grounded in reflection, connection, and shared hope.
