Verses of Hope

In the Qur'an, Allah says in the famous ayah:

قُلْ يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

"Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" Quran [39:53]

This Qur'anic verse became the straw that every sinner held on to, and the glimmer of providence at the end of a dark tunnel. It became an epitome of divine mercy and a comfort to the believers who struggle with their fallibility as they strive to please their Lord. In other words, this verse became synonymous with hope: in a better tomorrow, in God's forgiveness, in a chance at redemption, in new beginnings and in peace in heaven.

This Ramadan our Imams will explore the theme "Verses of Hope", touching upon verses from the Qur'an that incite hope in the heart, helping us endure the difficult realities of our times.
