Tarbiya Groups Coordinator

We are excited to announce a new position open at Tarbiya Institute - Tarbiya Groups Coordinator!

The Coordinator of Tarbiya Groups shall be responsible for leading, organizing, equipping, and supporting community members in fulfilling Tarbiya’s mission and vision through spiritual and social growth. This position will work with the Tarbiya House staff to create small group opportunities for adults to grow in their love for God and each other. This is achieved through providing community members who have special interests with platforms in which they can be with others with similar interests, with whom they will meet regularly, build lasting friendships, serve, volunteer, and grow in their connection with Allah (swt) and attachment to their community. 

  1. Identify, connect, develop and train persons who volunteer or are asked to be leaders of Tarbiya Groups.

  2. Bring community members together as members of Tarbiya Groups to build relationships, create connections, guide people, and add value across all Tarbiya campuses. 

  3. Brainstorm, discuss, develop and execute the Tarbiya Group development process, management, and execution

  4. Promote and support services for Tarbiya Groups, including marketing, meeting coordination, social media announcements, etc. 

  5. Work with Chief Communications Officer to market, highlight and grow small groups at Tarbiya House Roseville (research best practices to market and communicate all things small groups related with the Roseville community).

  6. Conduct due diligence in order to remain updated on all internal and external developments at the Tarbiya Roseville Campus.

  7. Create and establish the overall and annual vision for small groups in alignment with Tarbiya Institute’s vision and annual theme.

  8. Lead Tarbiya Group leaders training/check-in meetings every two months.

  9. Help develop annual plans for Tarbiya Groups and track their progress and growth. 

  10.  Help Tarbiya Group leaders recruit members from the community, and monitor their growth and integration into the Tarbiya community. 

  11.  Attend regular, weekly Tarbiya House staff meetings.

  12.  Report directly to the Tarbiya House campus Imam. 

The Tarbiya Groups Coordinator is: 

  1. A God-loving, Deen-centered, Quranically-rooted, warm-hearted individual who loves people and finds joy in their company.

  2. Someone who possesses a clear passion to draw non-practising Muslims and religiously uncommitted individuals into a lasting partnership with Allah (swt). 

  3. An individual who feels a great degree of excitement for and commitment to the mission and vision of Tarbiya Institute. 

  4. A visionary person with the freedom and inner motivation to explore the most effective means by which we can bring people to the path of Allah (swt). 

  5. A team player who works well with staff and other members of the community staff and finds joy in working with volunteers. 

  6. A practicing Muslim who adheres to the proper Islamic character evidenced by a life of prayer, spiritual discipline, volunteering, and participation in the life of our community.

  7. Someone with a sense of humor and the ability not to take him/herself too seriously.

  8. An individual with high energy levels to meet the demands of a growing community.
