It Started with a Dream

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
“And those who believe and do righteous good deeds, they are dwellers of paradise, they will dwell therein forever” [2:83]

Picture a young man who used to frequent his local masjid to hear the Jumaa khutba. He encountered some challenges in life, as we all do, that led that young man to drift away from regular attendance at the masjid. Years later, he had a dream of attending Jumaa again, listening to the same Imam giving the khutba. So that week, he decided to attend jumaa at his old masjid, only to realize that his Imam no longer serves there. So he asked around as to his whereabouts. He was told the imam moved to a new institution. So he goes there, attends the khutba, and finally feels a sense of homecoming. Shortly after, he looked up the Institute's website and sent an email to volunteer his services and request a meeting.

This meeting led to the young brother volunteering on several media projects, lending his manpower, expertise, and passion to assist in moving the institution forward. Sounds like a fictional story? Think again. The young man is Br. Amir Ansari, and the institution is Tarbiya Institute. Amir has since taken charge of live-streaming for Jumaa and Taraweeh, assists with filming and editing Tarbiya videos, takes photos and videos at Tarbiya events, and served as a team member on the Age of Atheism project, amongst many smaller volunteering tasks outside his media work.

Amir's passion and dedication to his work are evident. He has an eye for detail and a knack for capturing the essence of every moment, helping our work come to life. He devotes his time and energy to the cause of our community and the work of Allah (SWT) without asking for anything in return. His commitment to the work of the Tarbiya Institute is a testament to his character, and we are blessed to have him as part of our Tarbiya family.

We hope that others are inspired by Amir's example and consider volunteering their time and talents for a worthy cause. We know firsthand the impact that one person can have, and we are grateful to have Amir as an example of what it means to truly give back. May Allah always guide his steps, inspire his heart and grant him success in both abodes, Ameen.
