Tazkiyya: The Practice of Purification
Among the pillars of our deen, according to the famous hadith of Jibreel (as), is the practice of zakah, yet many Muslims only think of this matter once a year, when it’s time to pay their obligatory 2.5%.
In reality, the practice of paying zakat-ul-maal is only one manifestation of a much deeper spiritual ethic and one that requires much more consistency and attention. That is the practice of purification: Tazkiyya. That is how we offer zakah on every aspect of our lives.
