The Spiritual Benefits of Travel

Again and again He draws our attention to the wonders that are to be found on this planet. Even in our original purpose he mentions to the angels that we are to be His representatives on earth. So how can we be aware of this and yet chose to spend our entire leaving the earth unexplored? Many muslims today may have little regard for travel, but the tradition is overflowing with its encouragement! Is it possible that in travel we strengthen our faith, elevate our character, find pure sustenance, and even see some of the greatest scholarship in Islamic history?
