The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced that Wednesday, May 28th, will mark the first day of Dhul Hijjah of the year 1446 in the Islamic Calendar. Therefore, the day of ‘Arafah will be Thursday, June 5th. Eid al-Adha this year will be on Friday, June 6th, 2025.
Tarbiya Institute will observe Eid ul-Adha on Friday, June 6th, with two shifts of prayer at each of our locations: Tarbiya House Roseville, Tarbiya House Natomas, and Tarbiya House Elk Grove. The Takebeerat will begin at 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM. Since Eid falls on a Friday, we are not required to pray Jumaa, but all locations will still offer only one shift of Jumaa at 1:30 pm.
We will hold one, unified Eid celebration on Saturday, June 14th, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM at Tarbiya House Roseville. We hope that you will join us in prayer and in celebration.
We remind the community to start planning for the blessed first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, about which the Prophet taught us that “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” [Bukhari]. This includes fasting the day of ‘Arafah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Fasting the day of `Arafah expiates the sins of two years: the past one and the coming one.” [Muslim].
May Allah (SWT) always bless us with days to celebrate our faith and our growing community. Eid Mubarak to our Tarbiya family!
