Sr. Aimee Sanatkar

Sr. Aimee Sanatkar was raised in Alabama and has lived in California for the majority of her life. Born into a Christian family, she converted to Islam at age 20. Sr. Aimee has studied Sunni, Shia and Sufi Islamic disciplines, and has been active in many nonprofit activities. She was on the Inaugural Board for SALAM Center and created their library.  She is a co-founder and Core Lead of Embrace Sacramento, a project of ICNA, and is a member of ICNA Sacramento’s Shura Council.  She has served as the Head Counselor of Tarbiya’s Summer Camp. She was a co-founder and Board Member of the Mehr organization, an organization that hosts activities for seniors.  She was a co-founder and Board Member of All About YOU, a mental health clinic serving immigrant populations. Sr. Aimee has volunteered extensive hours with World Relief, a refugee resettlement and support organization, and also with Dress A Girl, an organization that makes dresses and distributes in impoverished countries. Her education is in accounting and management, and she enjoys assisting nonprofits in organization and management structure. Sr. Aimee holds a B.A. in Accounting and an MBA in Management. She is also credentialed as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Management Accountant.
