Sometimes, someone in your care would benefit from professional therapy. While we do not make referrals to a specific therapist, we do encourage you to talk with your care recipient about the the benefits of therapy, signs therapy would help, questions to ask a potential therapists and general expectations. Please use the following guide from the FYI to guide this conversation. You may send the link directly to the care recipient as well.

I follow the prophetic model to promote Islamic spirituality and well-being, and to serve with the core values of the department: compassion, sincerity, service, and integrity.
I will maintain high standards of competence, and will actively strive to develop my knowledge and skills as a Tarbiya chaplain.
I will maintain self-discipline as a Muslim by establishing regular prayers and practice required acts of worship, strive to maintain good character, and engage in activities that promote personal and spiritual development.
I will honor the amana (trust) placed upon me as chaplain and never violate the personhood of another human being, religiously, emotionally, or physically..
I will promote partnership and interactiveness in my teaching and counsel.
I believe that everyone has potential in them that is a blessing from Allah (swt), and my role is to help myself and others fulfill their potential in life physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
