100 Years of Palestine

An Immersive Exhibition

Exhibit Recap

وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌۭ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ
Among our creations, there are those who guide with the truth, and the truth renders them righteous. [Quran 7:181]

In an era marked by the dissemination of misinformation and perpetuation of stereotypes, the 100 Years of Palestine exhibit emerged as a revitalizing opportunity to delve into the authentic and rich history of Palestine. With an unprecedented attendance of over 3000 individuals, the event became a focal point for those eager to learn more about the Holy Land. The Tarbiya Institute took great pride in hosting the exhibit, and the team was genuinely moved by the positive response from attendees, even in the face of rainy weather and long queues that wrapped around the building and through the parking lots throughout the day.

Visitors had the unique chance to explore a rare compilation of historical images of Palestine, each offering a distinct perspective on its past. The exhibit featured a vast collection of significant artifacts and memorabilia generously donated by community members, fostering a sense of shared history and connection. An art gallery showcased works from Palestinian artists, including children, vividly portraying their lived experiences. The event facilitated meaningful dialogue through engagement with community members and over 12 tabling organizations providing valuable information and resources. There were multiple shahadah's during the day. Attendees immersed themselves in a virtual reality station, offering a firsthand experience of historical sites. Two video viewing rooms ran documentaries, offering informative insights into the history and culture of Palestine. The exhibit's diverse offerings extended to a bazaar with 12 vendors, each selling a variety of items related to Palestinian culture and traditions. Attendees also had the pleasure of savoring the delightful cuisine of Palestine, featuring a menu filled with traditional dishes.

By the end of the evening, all items were completely sold out. A special silent auction featured distinctive artwork, poetry, calligraphy, and more, adding an extra layer of cultural richness to the event. The younger audience had an interactive exhibit tailored to provide hands-on, creative, and educational opportunities for children and families alike. Additionally, a striking community mural, crafted by the youth, was displayed for all to appreciate. Through all the different elements of the exhibit, the team raised funds that will be put towards the humanitarian efforts in Gaza. In this critical juncture, where a narrative shift is imperative to showcase the humanity of Palestinians, the organizers expressed their hope that the exhibit successfully portrayed the true symbols of integrity, strength, courage, honor, and dignity that the Palestinian people embody. Through this platform, they aspired to contribute to a more accurate and empathetic understanding of the Palestinian narrative. Please stay tuned for updates as the team works on offering this exhibit again soon!
